Our First scholarship recipient: Chelsea DeLoge

I’m glad the scholarship fund is doing well! I just hit my 1 year mark as an RN on March 1st. I’m still at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene on the Progressive Care Unit, which is a step down unit, in between ICU and Med-Surg.

I am loving my job and I love the people that I work with.

I hope to pursue a master’s degree sometime in the next year or two in

Nursing Informatics and Nursing/Healthcare Management.

The scholarship helped me more than you will ever know. I had no idea how I was going to pay to take the NCLEX exam.

I used all of the money from my graduation party to pay for the review course I was required to take through school. The NCLEX cost way more money than I thought. I think it was $200 for the exam and another $50-$100 for my license.

So the scholarship helped me pay for that. It also helped me get back on my feet after school was over.

The period after graduation to finding a job was rough because I had no source of income and had no idea how I was going to afford gas for my car and other things.

The scholarship was just enough to help me through that period of time.

Nice to hear from you! And thank you again for allowing me to be the first recipient of the scholarship. :)
